As One Ministries - What We Believe

WE BELIEVE AND TEACH that the Bible is God's Holy Word, His revelation to mankind of the plan of salvation, the history of mankind's redemption, and His provision for the instruction and training of His children in righteousness and holiness;

WE BELIEVE AND TEACH that there is one God who exists eternally and manifests Himself to us in three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit;

WE BELIEVE AND TEACH that man is created in the image of God, yet he is fallen in his sinfulness;

WE BELIEVE AND TEACH that Jesus Christ is God, undiminished deity and perfect humanity permanently united in one person, who took on the form of man; who was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was crucified on a cross for the sins of mankind, rose again three days later as prophesied in scripture, and now sits on the right hand of the Father making intercession for us;

WE BELIEVE AND TEACH that salvation is given by grace through faith alone in Jesus Christ and that we must accept His death as our own to receive the righteousness of God, which was purchased by Jesus' shed blood on the cross; that it was through His sacrificial death on the cross that He removed once and for all the barrier of sin between God and man, making salvation available for all who confess Christ and believe;

WE BELIEVE AND TEACH the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues, and in both the spiritual gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit being manifested throughout the body of Christ in power and in love;

WE BELIEVE AND TEACH divine healing of the physical body and soul as a provision of the atonement in Jesus Christ under the New Covenant;

WE BELIEVE AND TEACH that the universal church is the Body of Christ, the visible expression of God's kingdom in this age, and is distinct from physical Israel; we further believe that membership in the body is based solely upon a personal relationship with Jesus Christ;

WE BELIEVE AND TEACH that the gentile church is NOT a replacement for the nation of Israel, that nation of Israel was only rejected for a season according to the scriptures, and that they will be drawn into salvation through Jesus Christ at the end of the church age and will be used as a tool of witness for the Kingdom;

WE BELIEVE AND TEACH that the local church is an assembly of believers gathering together in communion with each other to give visible expression of Jesus Christ's body to their community and to stimulate spiritual growth in each other's lives;

WE BELIEVE in the instructing, training and discipling of every believer for the carrying out of the Great Commission; we believe in encouraging every believer in study, prayer, worship, and kingdom work for their personal maturity, that they might grow in the knowledge and image of Jesus Christ;

WE BELIEVE AND TEACH that history is controlled by the sovereign rule of God and will culminate in the establishment of His kingdom upon earth .... A kingdom ruled by His Son and those who have placed their faith in Him, until the end of the millenial age;

WE BELIEVE AND TEACH that the Christian ordinances are to be observed commemorating Christ's works for the church: Baptism and the Lord's Supper. Baptism is practiced by individuals as a symbolic expression of personal identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. The Lord's Supper is practiced corporately as a symbolic reminder of His provision for salvation for the church;

WE BELIEVE AND TEACH that spiritual warfare is a very present reality for both believers and non-believers, that there are demonic forces in the spiritual realm that are afflicting humanity in various ways and on various levels, that the Body of Christ has been called and equipped by God to exercise the authority of Christ on behalf of those who are demonically afflicted, and that confronting demonic forces is a crucial part of advancing the kingdom of God and fulfilling the Great Commission.
